What are your daily tasks?

As a Lead System Engineer, you are responsible for developing the design for new and existing motion systems. After you determined the requirements with the customer, you work with your team of System Engineers on the development of mechatronic systems. You use state-of-the-art development software and you are up-to-date with recent developments in production methodology.

After releasing the design, you remain closely involved during production and assembly. You measure the dynamics of the prototype you developed, for example by applying Modal Analysis, and improve the design where necessary. You are PM's technical conscience in the sales process. As a Lead System Engineer, you are the coach for your colleagues. You stimulate and motivate them to get the best out of themselves and the team every day.

Key points of this role are:

  • Together with Sales you translate the customer's wishes into a concept in which you clarify the technical scope;

  • You set, agree and follow up the technical planning in collaboration with the relevant Project Manager;

  • You perform calculations and simulations to determine the feasibility and impact of possible solutions;

  • You develop concept solutions;

  • You deliver a prototype that meets the requirements and wishes of the customer;

  • You are involved during the production, assembly and test phase of the design and improve it where necessary;

  • You are the coach for your colleagues.

What do we offer?

We offer you an employment contract with a view on permanent employment. You will be awarded in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Metalworking Company (depending on knowledge & experience) and receive an 8% holiday allowance and a travel allowance for commuting if you live outside a radius of 10 kilometres.

Each year you get ADV days and vacation days based on the Collective Labor Agreement. Within the organization, you are involved in various business processes and you can evolve on various fronts, in order to help further shape the organization.

What do we ask?

We ask for a solution-oriented attitude and strong communication skills from you. You can multitask well and have experience in coaching employees. In addition, you are a university graduate in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or comparable. You are competent in the tasks mentioned and you have been successful in a similar position for at least 2 years. You have knowledge of and experience with the 3D CAD system and performing FEM calculations. Knowledge of and experience with Siemens NX is an advantage.
